Program Details
Welcome to our hostel in the heart of Antigua Guatemala! We are building more than just a place to stay—we are creating a community where travelers, volunteers, and locals can connect through culture, hospitality, great coffee, and unforgettable experiences.
Our volunteer program is designed to offer a genuine cultural exchange. In return for a few hours of help each day, you will receive accommodation, become part of our international team, and gain hands-on experience in hospitality while exploring one of Central America’s most beautiful destinations.
We believe in creating a positive, respectful, and collaborative environment where everyone contributes to making our hostel feel like home. Volunteers work alongside our staff, participate in daily operations, and have the opportunity to meet travelers from all over the world.
In this role, your help will directly contribute to the guest experience and the welcoming atmosphere that makes our hostel special.
We encourage initiative, creativity, and teamwork. If you have ideas for activities, events, or ways to improve the guest experience, we would love to hear them. Our goal is for every volunteer to leave with new skills, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable memories. 🌋
This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, responsible, communicative, and enjoys meeting people from different cultures🌎
Activities & Shift
Volunteers help approximately 24–30 hours per week, spread across 4–5 days depending on the role and the hostel’s needs.
Shifts are scheduled in advance and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, or holidays, as these are often our busiest times.
At the beginning of your stay, you will receive an orientation to help you understand your responsibilities, our operating procedures, and the hostel’s culture.
Your daily tasks may include:
• Welcoming guests and assisting with check-in and check-out.
• Answering questions and providing recommendations about Antigua.
• Helping with reservations and general reception duties.
• Preparing coffee and beverages.
• Responding to guest requests and helping solve day-to-day issues.
• Supporting housekeeping coordination when needed.
• Helping organize events and activities.
• Maintaining the reception and common areas clean and organized.
• Creating content for the hostel.
• Supporting general hostel operations.
We value teamwork, flexibility, and clear communication. Some days may be busier than others, and volunteers are expected to support one another whenever needed to ensure guests have the best possible experience.
Your free time is yours to enjoy! Explore Antigua, hike nearby volcanoes, visit local markets, take Spanish classes, or simply relax and connect with fellow travelers.
