Program Details

This is a one-off opportunity to volunteer as a retreat cook for a week with us, although you're welcome to stay on before and after as a more general volunteer (see our general position info). In return you get to be part of a soulful week with lovely people, and the chance to practise meditation, tai chi and yoga each day, as well as any other pop-up activities that arise during the week. The retreat is a working land retreat, whereby guests contribute a few hours of land work each morning in return for a soulful, nourishing week of meditation, yoga, tai chi and a catered dinner each night - we share the preparation of breakfast and lunch as a group, although you would be exempt from that. You can read more information about the retreat here: https://frondyoga.com/back-to-the-land/"

Activities & Shift

Your job will be cooking a wholesome, nourishing vegetarian dinner each day for 10-15 people and you can manage your time how you like. There is a yoga class on offer every afternoon so if you want to attend that you might need to do some prep earlier in the day. The guests will be helping us on the land each morning and you're welcome to join us if you wish or take your space - up to you. We will go through a rough menu together before the retreat, although you will have freedom to cook as you wish, within the limits of available food and budget. We have plenty of organic veg coming from the garden that we will encourage you to use where possible. We will also expect you to assist with the food shop before the retreat.
