Program Details

Our volunteer program runs Monday to Friday in Bukabooli Sub-county, Mayuge District, Uganda.

Each day volunteers help for 3 to 5 hours at partner schools or in our community garden.

Morning: Volunteers go to St Peter School in Nawampongo Village or Mpakirema School in Namululi Village. They support teachers by helping children aged 3 to 12 with English, reading, games, art, music and sports.

Afternoon: Volunteers work in the school or community garden with children. Together we plant, water, weed and harvest vegetables like sukuma, cabbage and tomatoes. Food from the garden is used in the school feeding program.

We also involve volunteers in planning our new UVLIA Nursery School.

Volunteers live with the community, eat 3 meals per day, and have weekends free to rest or visit Lake Victoria. Our UVLIA team provides airport pickup, guidance and support throughout the stay.

Minimum stay is 4 weeks.
