Program Details
Escape the crowds and discover the untouched beauty of West Sumbawa, where healthy coral reefs, remote islands, and welcoming coastal communities create the perfect setting for meaningful travel. Instead of joining a commercial dive tour, you'll live with a local host family and work directly with community conservation teams—not through a third-party tour agent—giving you an authentic experience while supporting local livelihoods.
Your volunteer role includes assisting with coral restoration, artificial reef installation, underwater photography, marine biodiversity monitoring, beach clean-ups, and environmental education. Every activity is designed to protect marine ecosystems while empowering local communities that depend on healthy oceans.
Your US$75/day contribution is subsidized to make marine conservation more accessible. While commercial dive experiences in Bali or Lombok typically charge around US$95 per day for diving alone, your fee also includes accommodation with a host family, three daily meals, guided conservation activities, cultural immersion, and local transportation.
This is more than a diving adventure—it's an opportunity to create lasting environmental impact, experience authentic Indonesian village life, and become part of a growing movement for regenerative tourism.
