We are a small horse project located in the beautiful nature south of Lisbon. Our home is currently shared with 8 rescued horses and one little foal. Besides giving our horses the best possible life, we offer authentic horseback experiences for guests from all over the world.
We're looking for practical, reliable people who enjoys physical work & nature and knows how to ride. This position is ideal for a couple who likes outdoor work and wants to experience a simple lifestyle close to the Atlantic Ocean.
If you are an experienced rider and stay long enough to become familiar with our horses and routes, there may be the opportunity to work as a paid trail guide in addition to your volunteer position.
Daily help is around 4 hours per day, 5 days per week.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the stable and surrounding property
- Grass trimming and brush cutting (experience with a brush cutter/string trimmer is a big plus)
- Small repair and maintenance jobs
- General gardening and outdoor work
- Keeping paddocks, paths and common areas tidy
- Helping with feeding the horses
- Supporting with general stable work when needed
(If you also have strong riding experience and stay long enough to learn our trails, there may be an opportunity to earn additional money by guiding horseback tours.)
Every day is a little different, so we're looking for someone who enjoys practical work and is happy to help wherever needed.
