Program Details

At Humberto Braima Sambu School, volunteers play a very important role in supporting our educational and community activities. Their presence helps enrich the day-to-day life of the students, bringing new experiences, knowledge and ways of learning.

Volunteering does not replace teachers, but complements the educational process, especially in non-formal education activities. We aim to create a space for exchange, where volunteers also learn from the local reality, the Guinean culture and the way of life of our community.

Before starting, we explain to volunteers how the school is organized, the profile of the students and the most urgent needs. During the stay, we strive to accompany them so they feel integrated and can contribute in the best possible way.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers can participate in different areas, according to their interests, skills and experience. Among the main activities are:
Support in mathematics classes, helping students with basic exercises, simple explanations and extra reinforcement.
Sports activities and educational games, promoting participation, teamwork and discipline.
Environmental education, through conversations, dynamics and awareness-raising actions about cleanliness, nature and environmental protection.
Cultural and recreational activities, such as games, music, body expression, drawing, storytelling and other creative dynamics.
General pedagogical support, especially with reading, writing, communication and reinforcement exercises.
Exchange of experiences and cultural exchange, sharing your culture, language, skills and worldview with the students.

We always adapt activities to the knowledge level, training and availability of each volunteer. It is not necessary to be a professional teacher to participate: the most important thing is to have the will to collaborate, responsibility, patience and openness to learn and live with our reality.
