Historic parsonage: sauna & workshop projects amid lakes
The experience
We're finishing a wood-fired sauna in the workshop — framing's done, now it's insulation and cladding, no trade skills needed. Come summer, we raise a large tipi in the orchard too, guided by Radek, our resident craftsman. In winter, there's help needed keeping the log-fired boiler stocked, plus everyday jobs like tidying the workshop. Skilled trades are handled by professionals — volunteers do the physical work around them.

Program Details
Typical days combine about 4 hours of hands-on work, 4 days a week, with three days free. Tasks follow the seasons: right now that's insulating and cladding the sauna, and come summer, helping raise a large tipi in the orchard alongside Radek, our resident craftsman. In winter, it shifts to keeping the log-fired boiler stocked and general workshop upkeep. No trade skills needed — the technical work is handled by Radek and hired professionals, volunteers help with the physical side of it.
Activities & Shift
Typical days combine 4 hours of hands-on work on weekdays with three free days each week. Volunteers, including digital nomads, are free to organize their work hours around their own schedule, as long as the weekly total and agreed tasks are completed. Depending on the season, tasks range from insulating and cladding our wood-fired sauna, to helping raise a large tipi in the orchard alongside Radek, our resident craftsman, to keeping the log-fired boiler stocked in winter and general workshop upkeep. No trade skills needed — the technical work is handled by Radek and hired professionals, volunteers help with the physical side of it.
Rules
This is a quiet, contemplative place, so we ask for no alcohol, smoking, or drugs on the property. Our household is vegetarian — guests are welcome to eat meat, which can be stored in a dedicated guest fridge, but I won't be cooking it myself. We have five resident cats, so unfortunately we're not able to accommodate guest pets. Beyond that: come as you are, and bring a respectful, easygoing attitude toward shared living.
