Program Details

Our program is a simple cultural exchange where you help us with the day-to-day running of our small hostel in Cusco, Peru, while having the opportunity to experience local life and meet travellers from around the world.

Your main responsibilities will be keeping the hostel clean and welcoming, including cleaning and preparing rooms, cleaning bathrooms and shared areas, checking guests in and helping guests when needed.

No previous hostel experience is required. We’ll explain the routines and show you everything you need to know when you arrive. We’re mainly looking for people who are responsible, friendly, clean and comfortable working independently.

In exchange for your help, we provide accommodation in our shared dorm. You’ll have your free time to explore Cusco and the surrounding area, experience Peruvian culture, visit the Sacred Valley and meet people from many different countries.

The exchange is ideal for independent travellers who want to slow down for a while, become part of a small hostel environment and experience Peru beyond simply being a tourist.

We want the experience to be beneficial for both sides — you help us keep the hostel running smoothly, and we give you a place to stay while you experience Peru, meet people and enjoy everything Cusco has to offer.

Activities & Shift

Activities & Shifts

The main activities are related to keeping the hostel clean, organised, and welcoming for guests.

Typical tasks include:

* Cleaning and preparing guest rooms
* Cleaning bathrooms
* Cleaning and organising shared areas
* Checking guests in and welcoming them
* Helping guests with basic questions or requests
* Reporting any maintenance issues

Shifts will generally be organised around guest check-outs and check-ins, so the busiest times are usually during the morning and afternoon. The exact schedule can vary depending on how many guests we have.

We’ll agree on your working schedule when you arrive, and the aim is to give you plenty of free time to explore Cusco and enjoy your trip.

You’ll be shown the tasks and routines when you arrive, and once you are comfortable with everything, you’ll be able to work independently.
