Program Details
Low season, cleaning cabins and receiving guests.
Put used and taken sheets into the washing machine and dryer during cleaning. (Cleaning procedure)
Water the greenhouse and feed the tiger (kitten)
Keep the main cabin orderly (it will be your home)
The work in the remaining time, if any, consists of pruning flowers and shrubs, maintaining the garden (mowing the lawn, removing weeds)
Another example is: if material arrives and the carpenter comes to work, you can help him if there is something to paint, for example swings; in short, it is like preparing and/or maintaining the garden.
Generally the shift is whatever time you spend doing the activity that needs to be done; if there are cleaning tasks because clients left, that will be the job; if there are no clients and the weather allows, you will work in the garden.
Volunteer benefits:
You have a bedroom for yourself with 3 beds that is shared in case someone else arrives. Do not consume food in the bedroom and keep your clothes tidy out of respect for everyone who shares the space.
Recommendations:
If you take any medication, any therapy, it’s also important to mention it to have clarity in the face of any situation or unforeseen event.
Provide an emergency contact, parents, relatives, friends, etc....
Wake up at 09:30 hrs.
Coordinate and agree:
You must coordinate with the other volunteers their afternoons, so that, in the facility, there is always a person in case a reception between 15:00 and 18:30 hrs is needed… if clients arrive later they are received in another way (Exceptions)
Days off should also be coordinated among the volunteers remembering that at least one person must always remain on site. (There are exceptions)
Activities & Shift
There is no requirement to complete exactly 5 hours of work; only commitment, seriousness and responsibility with the task at hand so that incoming clients are always satisfied with the preparation of their cabin. (you’ll work relaxed, you only need to keep reporting progress, for example: cabin 2 ok)
We aim to maintain the calm and harmony of what is already in place and also be open to suggestions from another perspective.
Rules
The kitchen is for common use, ideally take turns with other volunteers for the preparation of the community lunch (3 to 4 people); meals are the time we can meet at 14:00 and discuss doubts, concerns or situations that arise, also to organize ourselves. Supplies are provided by Entre esteros, except for very specific things that are difficult to obtain and we ask for your help in compiling the list.
There is a laundry with a dryer, heating with a slow-burning stove and you must keep firewood always inside the house (prepped boxes are loaded into the woodbox), there is wifi, hot water, cable TV. The gate to the site is remote-controlled (In case of power outage there is a way to unlock, it is taught)
There are bicycles for free use if you don’t go by vehicle and you’d like to move around.
