Program Details

We are looking for an experienced EFL/ESL volunteer to help ECC create a clear, practical English teaching curriculum for primary-level students.

At the moment, our volunteers choose what to teach each week, and we do not have a structured curriculum. We would love someone with experience in EFL education to help us develop a simple scheme of work that future volunteers can follow. You could use established approaches or resources such as Cambridge English or the British Council as inspiration.

This is an administrative and curriculum-development role supporting our local team and family at ECC. You will have the freedom to use your knowledge and experience to create something that works well for our local children and future volunteers.

We already have worksheets, flashcards, teaching resources and an office full of EFL materials for you to organise and work with. Students in Grades 4–6 also have a workbook, but it is not always suitable for their level, so we would like to create a more useful and consistent teaching plan around their needs.

This is a big challenge, but the impact could last for many years. For some of our children, their main contact with English is through our volunteers, so we want to make every lesson as effective and meaningful as possible.

We would love you to spend a few weeks with us in Siem Reap, visit our school and community project, experience local Cambodian culture, and have plenty of free time for tourism or remote/nomadic work. We have good Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and a comfortable space where you can work.
