Program Details
We believe that producing food can also be a way to regenerate the Earth.
We are starting the construction of an agroforestry front in our area in Serra da Mantiqueira and we are looking for someone who wants to be part of this story from the beginning.
The objective is to develop a system that unites food production, soil recovery, biodiversity increase and integration with the forest, creating a living model of regenerative agriculture.
During the experience, you will be able to participate in area planning, soil preparation, implementation of the first planting nuclei, selection and management of species and monitoring the development of the agroforestry.
More than executing tasks, we want to cocreate a system that continues growing after your passage. There is room to experiment, share knowledge, learn from the territory's reality and develop solutions adapted to Mantiqueira.
If you already have experience with agroforestry, syntropic agriculture, permaculture, or agroecology, you will be very welcome. If you are still learning, but have the willingness to put your hands in the soil, observe, learn and contribute, we also want to meet you.
Here, your work can become something that remains: trees, food, living soil, biodiversity and shared knowledge.
IMPORTANT
A Aquarius Living is located inside a large natural territory where the nearest town is about a 20-minute drive away. Here we allocate each volunteer in the residents' own houses in the community, with much care and respect.
Meals are prepared collectively, and in spare time there is plenty of space and trails for walking, green spaces, a lake, in short, a lot of contact with nature. There are always people available to help with any need.
Activities & Shift
The routine will be organized according to weather conditions, the needs of the agroforestry system, and the pace of the community.
Workload: approximately 4–5 hours per day, 5 days per week.
The schedules can be adjusted according to temperature and the day's activities, prioritizing the periods most suitable for field work.
In addition to the vacancy's activities, the volunteer will have free time to explore the territory, rest, socialize with the community and participate in the experiences and activities available at Aquarius Living.
Rules
🌿 Respect for the territory
We care for nature, animals, springs, plants and all Aquarius Living structures. Avoid waste and leave the spaces used organized.
