Program Details

Termales La Quinta is a mountain hacienda located in a privileged natural setting, surrounded by forest, thermal springs and high mountain landscapes.

We are looking for a person who wants to share a few days with us and help us with the care and improvement of our garden. We especially value those who have experience in gardens, gardening, agriculture, permaculture or food cultivation, although we also gladly welcome people with a genuine interest in learning and working with the land.

The proposal is simple: share knowledge, time and experiences. We want the person who visits us to contribute to the development of the garden and, at the same time, get to know our way of life, share with the team and enjoy a quiet place away from the city.

La Quinta is located in a rural mountain area and getting here is part of the experience: the last stretch is done on foot or on horseback. It is important to come prepared to be in permanent contact with nature, with a calm lifestyle rhythm and different from the city.

Activities & Shift

The collaboration will be focused mainly on our garden and will be organized according to current needs and weather conditions.

The activities may include:

* Cleaning, weeding and general maintenance of the garden.
* Soil preparation and improvement.
* Sowing, transplanting and care of plants.
* Irrigation and maintenance of crops.
* Organization of spaces and materials in the garden.
* Support in small tasks related to composting and the use of organic residues.
* Exchange of knowledge and proposals to improve the garden.

Activities will take place mainly in the morning, taking advantage of the best conditions for working outdoors. We will coordinate the tasks of each day with the volunteering person in advance.

We are not looking for only physical help: if you have experience or knowledge about agriculture, gardens, permaculture or sustainable practices, we will be happy to learn from you and hear your proposals.

Rules

La Quinta is a mountain place where we live and work in permanent contact with nature. We expect our volunteers to have a respectful, responsible and collaborative attitude.

We especially ask:

* Respect the schedules and activities previously agreed.
* Take care of the facilities, tools and natural spaces of the hacienda.
* Keep the spaces used clean and organized.
* Respect the La Quinta team, other visitors and rest times.
* Use water, energy and other resources responsibly.
* Always follow the safety instructions of the team, especially during travel, field activities and contact with animals.
* Let us know if you don't know how to use a tool or perform an activity: we prefer to teach and accompany first than to assume unnecessary risks.

We are in a natural and relatively isolated setting, so we especially value good communication, autonomy and an open attitude to adapt to mountain life.
