Mrs. Vilma welcomed me into her home as if I were her own daughter. The work is not complicated, but it does require responsibility. Good communication is also important to fully understand the different tasks and to let the hosts know if any problems or difficulties arise. Having two volunteers at the same time can definitely make it easier to organize the tasks. Cusco city center is about an hour away, depending on traffic and transportation.
Roxana was always available to answer any questions. I was also asked to help with some additional tasks, which I was happy to do.

I really enjoyed my stay ! The family I stayed with are beautiful. Despite my limited Spanish, they welcomed me and helped me with this. My only note is the home is a bit far from the city, but overall I really enjoyed my stay here.

Jackson 🙏I'm really glad you enjoyed the experience. Regarding the distance, I'm aware that traffic has increased lately, which is why I welcome two volunteers so they don't feel pressured by the timings. Unlike other places, buses here pass very frequently (every few minutes), and Uber is faster. Thanks for your good disposition! 🙌

My stay at Vilma's house in the countryside was a great opportunity near Cusco & the Inca ruins I was visiting. I was kindly welcomed by her &her daughter. There is also a nice young man there who goes to college nearby. 1-2 workers came daily & ate there as well. I washed the plates & cooking pans- as well as helping with their cats & dogs. All were affectionate, I fell in love with every animal.
They also have a second estate that overlooks the village; a breathtaking view I appreciated photographing. I declined to help with the land there though. No big deal but I had ruins to see each day

I speant a great time in Cusco. The tasks are easy to do and don't take a lot of time, so there's enough time to visit the city. I appreciate that Roxana's sister helped me with everything, such as the tasks in the house as personal stuff too

It was a great experience, just 1 hour away from Cusco! We felt welcoming by the host mom we were in the house with! And we had a lot of free time to discover around, as agreed in Worldpackers! Recommended! :)

My weeks taking care of Munay and Cusco were really very lovely❤️ They are quite independent cats, so the work isn't too demanding and you have plenty of free time to enjoy Cusco. Both are very friendly, affectionate and playful; I even slept with them and it was very nice to have their company; they are the kind of kittens that make the house feel much more cozy and warm.

Roxana was always available for any questions or anything she needed, so there was good communication.

I really enjoyed the experience. Vilma is a great host; we exchanged a lot of things together. The animals are great and easy to take care of. The neighborhood is about 1 hour 30 minutes from Cusco's city center, but it's very easy to go and get there because there is a bus that goes directly there. The activities are calm and after feeding the animals you have the day free, needing to return only at the end of the day to feed them again (when Vilma was there, sometimes she would arrange it and I could arrive with more flexible timing).

The experience with Roxana and the kittens was lovely; I used my time to get to know the city as well as to stay home, calm and relaxed. I would have liked the little house to be a bit cleaner upon my arrival, but it was a lovely experience anyway 🤍🙌🏼🫂✨

Milagros, thank you again for your help and for taking such good care of the kittens. I just wanted to clarify that the apartment where you stayed was not the volunteer house, but my sister's, who was away, so it wasn't in its usual condition. Thank you for adapting so well to the unexpected change 💛

My experience was very positive and in line with what the position describes. From the first day, I was very well received by Mrs. Vilma, Jhoncito, and the cats and dogs. Margarida, Vilma's daughter, was also present at various moments and helped a lot with tips, outings, and conversations. Roxana was always available via WhatsApp and was very attentive throughout the experience.

The house is about 45 minutes by bus from Cusco. Take advantage of sunny days to wash clothes, because in the cold they take a long time to dry. Taking initiative and good communication helps a lot with the tasks and with getting along.
