Program Details
We are developing a small, welcoming guesthouse in Bujjuko/Sentema Road, around 20 minutes from Kampala in normal traffic. The property is still basic and growing, so this is an opportunity to be part of the development from an early stage.
We will provide a private room and a safe, comfortable place to stay while you experience life in Uganda. We will help you settle in, introduce you to the local area and share our knowledge of Ugandan culture, food and everyday life.
We are looking for someone who wants more than a typical tourist experience. You will have the opportunity to meet local people, experience the area around Kampala and share your own culture and experiences with us.
In return for your contribution, we will provide clear expectations, a friendly environment and the opportunity to use your skills and ideas to help develop a real hospitality business.
We particularly welcome people interested in digital marketing, social media, photography, video, Airbnb, Booking.com, tourism, hospitality or business development.
You should expect a simple, developing environment rather than a finished hotel. We value initiative, creativity, reliability and a willingness to learn. Your ideas will be welcomed, and you will have the chance to see the results of your work as the guesthouse develops.
The goal is for both sides to benefit: you experience Uganda from a local perspective and develop your skills, while we work together to build a better guesthouse and attract more visitors

Rules
Treat the property, guests, neighbours and local community with respect.
Keep your room and shared areas clean and tidy.
Be reliable and communicate clearly about your schedule and plans.
Complete the agreed activities and hours responsibly.
Respect guest privacy and confidentiality. Do not share guest information or photos without permission.
Ask before photographing or posting images of guests or private areas.
Follow reasonable house rules regarding noise, visitors, security and use of facilities.
No illegal drugs or behaviour that could put guests, staff or the property at risk.
Respect Ugandan culture, customs and local laws.
Take reasonable care of keys, equipment, Wi-Fi and other property provided.
Let us know promptly about damage, maintenance problems or safety concerns.
We welcome ideas and initiative, but significant changes to the property, pricing, advertising or business arrangements should be discussed with us first.
Be open to cultural exchange — we hope you will share your own culture and experiences while learning about Uganda.
The arrangement should be friendly and professional. If either side feels the arrangement isn’t working, we expect an open conversation so it can be resolved respectfully.
