The experience
We foster and prepare rescue dogs from local NGOs to find their forever homes. While Ana personally manages all animal care and behavioral training, our volunteer program focuses on maintaining and revitalizing the property itself. Help with renovations, painting, and building a kennel in a location near the center of Sintra, but with a farm-like feel.
What you offer
30 hours of help per week
Farming:
Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.
Painting & Decorating:
Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.
Building & Repairing:
Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
Gardening:
Help grow plants and cultivate gardens
What you get
2 days off per week
Team Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.
Tent:
You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Beginner Portuguese or Beginner English
Over 20 years old

Program Details
We offer a peaceful rural stay in Portugal for nature lovers who want to support our mission by keeping our gardens and grounds thriving. In exchange, we provide comfortable accommodation, full kitchen access, and a warm, supportive environment.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers contribute 30 hours per week, with 2 full days off per week.\n\nMain daily responsibilities include:\n\n🌿 Gardening & Lawn Care: Planting grass, watering green areas, cutting tall vegetation and overgrowth, and pruning trees.\n\n🧹 Garden Cleaning & Maintenance: Sweeping paths, maintaining garden beds, and keeping all outdoor spaces organized.\n\n🛠️ General Quinta Maintenance: Assisting with light outdoor tasks around the property to keep the space running smoothly.\n\n🎨 Painting & Renovations: Wall painting, light building/renovation tasks, and assisting with constructing or refreshing dog kennels and shared spaces.\n\nPlease note: Volunteers do not handle or train the dogs. Shifts are flexible and coordinated directly with Ana so you have plenty of free time to relax and explore the region.
Rules
Respect the Property: Keep shared accommodation, kitchens, and gardening tools clean and organized after use.\n\nSafe Boundaries: Respect the dogs' dedicated spaces and strictly follow Ana’s safety instructions regarding property gates.\n\nClear Communication: Maintain reliable communication regarding shift schedules and report any property maintenance needs to Ana.
