Program Details

Trip Hostel is a growing project in Rio's North Zone (Jacarezinho) — we're building a space where travelers and locals mix, and volunteers are a core part of that. We're a small, hands-on team, so you'll work closely with us directly, not through layers of management. We believe in treating volunteers well: alongside your room and meals, you get access to our on-site martial arts gym (BJJ, Muay Thai, kickboxing) for free during your stay, and help with transport when needed. Volunteers who show real commitment and skill are considered first for future paid positions with us as we grow.

Activities & Shift

Your main focus is cleaning and general housekeeping — common areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and helping keep the space guest-ready for check-ins. Typical shifts run about 5 hours a day, with 2 days off per week. The routine is generally steady and predictable, but since we're a small and fast-moving operation, there may be occasional days where we ask for help with something outside your main role. This is the exception, not the norm, and we'll always explain why if it happens.

Rules

We ask for reliability and communication above all — if something comes up and you can't do a shift, just let us know as early as possible. Respect for shared spaces and other volunteers/guests is expected. We're flexible and easygoing as a team, and we ask for the same in return.
