Activities & Shift

At Pulmón Verde, we believe in maintaining a healthy balance between meaningful volunteer work, community life and personal free time.

Our volunteer schedule is 4 hours per day, 5 days per week, for a total of 20 hours per week. Every volunteer has 2 days off per week.

Volunteer activities depend on the needs of the project, individual skills and personal interests. Tasks may include gardening, reforestation, environmental conservation, beach cleanups, construction, maintenance, cooking, kitchen organization, marketing, social media, photography, video creation, art and community activities.

We especially welcome volunteers who take initiative, contribute their own ideas and enjoy working as part of a team.

Shifts are organized according to the project's daily needs. Whenever possible, we consider individual preferences and coordinate schedules so that everyone knows their responsibilities in advance.

We provide breakfast and lunch every day, including both days off.

With two full days off each week, volunteers have plenty of opportunities to explore Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya, visit cenotes, discover Mayan ruins, enjoy the Caribbean beaches, join excursions or simply relax.

We also organize community gatherings and occasional group activities to encourage cultural exchange, friendships and a strong sense of belonging.

Our goal is simple: 20 hours of meaningful contribution per week, plenty of personal freedom and a rewarding experience in a beautiful Caribbean environment.
