I had the best time volunteering at the farm! Lin was a very kind host, and he and his family made me feel so welcome. Mama Lin prepared the best home-cooked meals each time; it really was like being home away from home. It was so amazing learning about the rural side of China through Lin. I love how he passionately talks about the culture and promotes slow living through the farm life. I learned a thing or two about gardening and just being in touch with nature. I recommend this place if you want a break from city life to unwind and if you also want to be more connected with the locals.

We stayed 10 days at the farm and highly recommend staying at least a week to understand its philosophy and surroundings. Lin and his family are incredibly welcoming. This is a place were you can feel at home, breath and relax. We learned a lot from Lin and enjoyed local experiences, while Mama Lin cooked delicious meals and shared Chinese medicine recipes. The farm is a peaceful paradise (with LOTS of mosquitoes!). We helped with cleaning, rice harvesting, gardening and weeding. Lin's bigger permaculture/community project is still developing, but we'd love to return and help with it!

It was such a wonderful and unique experience. Lin and his lovely family were extremely welcoming and warm‑hearted. Their huge remote farm is peaceful, relaxing and surrounded by nature. I volunteered to build their website and create their social‑media presence for the "WayFinderChina" project, which connects people across the globe with China. Recommended!
