Your main role will be helping our Clean Team for 4 hours per day, keeping our little tropical oasis sparkling, welcoming and beautiful for our guests. 🌴✨
Most days this includes light cleaning, pass-through housekeeping, refreshing guest spaces, tending to little garden details and helping with the overall ambience of the property so everything feels peaceful, cared for and ready for new arrivals.
Because we are a small family-run hotel and retreat center, flexibility is really important! On quieter cleaning days, we may invite you to help with other fun projects depending on your interests and talents — painting, making signs, decorating, gardening, organization, web or design projects, or other creative improvements around the property.
From time to time, you may also help with hospitality, such as serving breakfast, welcoming guests or being present for light guest services during an evening shift.
We love discovering what each volunteer enjoys and is naturally good at, and whenever possible we match slower days with projects that fit those passions.
You will never work more than 4 hours per day, and the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and full of Pura Vida energy. Activities & Shifts 🌴✨
Your primary role will be helping our Clean Team, usually from 10:30am–2:30pm, for a maximum of 4 hours per day.
Typical Clean Team activities include:
* Light daily housekeeping and refreshing guest rooms
* Making beds, changing linens and towels occasionally (if guest requests)
* Tidying guest spaces
* Cleaning bathrooms and common areas
• Keeping the guest kitchen and pool deck, nice, clean and tidy
• Tending daily to the ambience and cleanliness of the common areas

* Keeping outdoor areas, pathways and garden spaces looking beautiful
* Helping maintain the overall ambience so the property always feels sparkling, peaceful and welcoming ✨
During slower periods, when the full Clean Team shift isn’t needed, we love finding projects that match your interests and talents. This could include:
* Painting or small creative projects
* Sign making or art projects
* Light repairs and property improvements
* Gardening
* Social media or content creation
* Web development or graphic design
* Organization projects
* Walking or spending time with our dogs if you’re an animal lover 🐾
* Helping with breakfast service
* Bartending or light hospitality
* Welcoming and assisting guests
We love getting to know our volunteers and discovering what they’re naturally good at, so when possible we’ll match special projects with your passions and skills.
Our usual shift is 10:30am–2:30pm, although occasionally it may start a little earlier. If we need help with an evening guest-services shift, we’ll arrange it with you ahead of time and simply swap your daytime shift for the evening one.
No matter what the activity is, you’ll never work more than 4 hours per day. Flexibility is important because every day in a small tropical hotel is a little different — and that’s part of the fun! 🌊🌺"
House Rules 🌴
Our goal is to maintain a peaceful, respectful and beautiful environment for our guests, volunteers and team.
* Quiet hours are 8pm–8am for all volunteers and residents.
* Please always use headphones for phone calls, videos, music or other audio. Sound travels easily across our tropical property and we work hard to maintain a tranquil atmosphere for guests.
* No outside visitors are permitted unless they are registered guests of the hotel.
* No pets or overnight guests/friends are allowed in volunteer accommodations.
* No alcohol or other substances may be used while on duty.
* Clean Team attire can be relaxed and comfortable. When helping with guest services, clothing should be casual, clean and neat.
* Our shared kitchen must be fully cleaned after every use, just as you would in a professional restaurant kitchen.
* Volunteers are responsible for following our simple move-out procedure before departure.
* We provide one laundry load per week. As an eco-conscious property with water restrictions, we ask everyone to be mindful of water and electricity use. Please provide your own laundry soap.
* A simple breakfast is included on work days. Volunteers provide all other food, including cooking oil, spices, seasonings and other pantry items.
* We provide your bed linens, pillows and towels, including a beach/shower towel.
• During the minimum one month volunteer commitment. We aren’t able to give any additional days off except legitimately sick days.

• We want all volunteers to be aware that this is a functioning business and it is a private residence for several people and our family, so bringing respectful positive vibes, cleanliness and tranquility are key!
