The experience

In our hostel that is also the basecamp of our NGO, we have a lot of international projects about nonformal education but as well some construction projects throughout the year. One of our mentors for some of those project is an amazing elderly lady from Iceland that is in the process of restoring her cabin on our properties. She has some health issues and needs some help in making floors, some furniture, decoration and all kinds of nice things.

Program Details

Since our friend Inga helps us and our international groups out a lot, we want to help her in another way. Before the winter really hits, this cabin should be at least closed and finished as much as possible. In exchange for an international environment, an en-suite room for 2 people, and food during the whole time of your volunteering experience, we would love you to both help Inga with her cabin, since she cannot do all of it herself because of her health issues, as well as mingle around with our groups and volunteers and have a good time in our place. We are quite remote in the middle of the woods, so there is a lot of beautiful nature around us, not so many urban areas though. So we hope you'd be comfortable with this style of living for the time of your volunteering period.

Activities & Shift

The hours that you want to work are absolutely up to you and Inga. You can directly talk about that with her, once you have arrived in the place. For the Worldpackers-deal you should work around 3 hours per day, but how and when you do that it is up to you. :)

Rules

Since we are operating in a very international and inclusive environment we just ask for respect in every possible way from you. We do not accept sexism or racism, and we ask everyone to behave respectfully towards people around here, the nature around us and the animals living with or around us.
