What you can do:

Feed and care for animals
Clean and maintain animal areas
Walk and exercise dogs
Support shelter activities and maintenance
Observe veterinary consultations and treatments
Learn about animal welfare and veterinary care in Tanzania
Support responsible pet ownership and community awareness

Who can volunteer?

We welcome animal lovers who are responsible, patient and willing to get involved.
No professional experience is required for general shelter activities. Veterinary students, veterinary professionals and volunteers with animal-care experience are also welcome. Any veterinary procedures must be carried out only by qualified professionals or under appropriate professional supervision.

This project gives you the opportunity to contribute to animal welfare while learning about the challenges and opportunities of animal care in Tanzania. You will work alongside local staff and professionals and experience everyday life in the Arusha community.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers usually help for around 20–25 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, approximately 4–5 hours per day.

The exact schedule is agreed with the local project coordinator and may vary depending on the children's daily activities and the needs of the project.

Weekends are free, giving volunteers plenty of time to explore Arusha, experience Tanzanian culture, or join optional trips and activities.
