Program Details
Our main rule is to play our two children (11 years old son and 9 years old daughter)
They do not understand much English yet, so please use simple words when speaking to them. Our older son loves physical activities, so we especially welcome someone who enjoys being active and playing with him. And he likes game and reading books. Our younger daughter can be a little sensitive but likes playing with elderly people. My husband goes to mow the grass at the solar power plant about once a month. I’d be happy if you could come along and help out. We're shy and a bit of a reserved person, but we're looking forward to meeting people from different countries.
We would like you to speak as much English as possible with them. You do not need to have prior experience working with children - just love for kids and an enjoyment of playing together is enough. We hope our kids can learn about different cultures and values; it would be wonderful if you could also share your skills with them.
Activities & Shift
How you’ll help
Our regular schedule is around 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, with 2 days off.
Play and spend time with our children
Practice simple English through everyday conversations
Play games and have fun together
Help with some light house cleaning
Share your culture and experiences with our family
On weekdays, you'll usually spend time with the children in the evening after they return from school.
On weekends, our son often has baseball games or practice. You’re welcome to come watch, spend time with our daughter, or join us when we meet friends!
Occasionally, especially during holidays, we may ask for around 5 hours of help. When this happens, we’ll adjust the exchange, such as providing all 3 meals and planning enjoyable activities together.
Rules
Please note: We live in an apartment, so we cannot accept smokers. We also ask everyone to keep noise to a minimum at night.
We’d love to welcome someone who wants to experience Japan not just as a traveler, but as part of our everyday family life!
