Join Olala Surf School at Costeño Beach, one of the most vibrant beach destinations on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. We are looking for an experienced and outgoing surfer to represent our school, enjoy the waves and connect with hotel guests.
You will collaborate for 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, with 2 days off. In exchange, we provide accommodation at Costeño Beach, three daily meals, access to a surfboard, laundry, and selected hotel activities or discounts.
Your daily collaboration will consist of approximately 2 hours of surfing and 3 hours supporting the surf school, promoting lessons and being available when help is needed.
Surf sessions will normally be divided between key morning and afternoon hours, depending on ocean conditions and activity at the hotel. While surfing, you will represent Olala Surf School and create a visible presence in the water.
Outside the water, you will connect naturally with hotel guests, explain our surf lessons, answer questions, help generate bookings and occasionally provide information to board-rental guests about the local surf spot and give them some guidance. Teaching surf lessons is not part of this exchange.
You must be an experienced and independent surfer. Before being accepted, you will need to send us a recent video showing your surfing level. The beach break in front of Costeño Beach can be powerful and difficult to paddle out, so you must be comfortable with currents, duck diving and challenging beach-break conditions.
Fluent English is required, as an important part of the role involves communicating with international hotel guests and promoting our lessons.
You must be friendly, proactive, responsible and comfortable approaching people without being pushy. Ocean safety always comes first, and nobody will be required to surf when conditions are unsafe. You will not work as a surf instructor, lifeguard or person responsible for the safety of guests.
