Program Details
You will be part of Universal Plastic's scientific environment, directly supporting our biology researchers in projects related to marine pollution, data, and Artificial Intelligence.
An important part of your work will be to collect, organize, label, and review images of plastic waste that we use to train and improve AI models. You will also be able to collaborate in bibliographic research and participate in campaigns to collect and characterize plastics using the Universal Plastic App.
We are especially looking for students or recent graduates in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Marine Sciences, Oceanography, Environmental Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
You don't need to be an expert in Artificial Intelligence. For us, scientific curiosity, organization, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are more important. Knowledge of data analysis, AI, or image labeling will be valued, as well as a good level of English to consult scientific bibliography.
We can certify your volunteering. The collaboration is 20 hours per week, 4 hours a day from Monday to Friday.
On our side, we want you to be able to learn and become part of the Universal Plastic community. You will have your space in our Team Dorm, access to the kitchens, bicycles to get around, and soft-top surfboards to enjoy the Cantabrian Sea. 🌊
