Program Details

1. Daily Routine and Animal Care:
Routine tasks include household management, cleaning, some gardening, and—above all—caring for our large animal family (dogs, cats, chickens, goats, and a duck), as well as the strays we look after.
Important: This role requires a high level of responsibility and constant attention.

2. Maintenance, Repairs, and Thai-Style Creativity
There is always something to improve or fix! If you have practical skills or enjoy DIY projects, you’ll find plenty of opportunities here. We work primarily with recycled materials, wood, and bamboo, following the Thai approach: repairing, building, and inventing solutions at zero cost.
Having existing hands-on skills (such as basic carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work) will make your stay much more independent, stimulating, and fun for everyone, as it avoids the need to demonstrate every single step.

3.House sitting & animal care: caring for the animals, house and garden while I am away. This is a high-responsibility position, ideally for someone with previous house-sitting or animal-care experience who is comfortable living independently in a tropical jungle environment.
.....
Live on a beautiful, authentic Thai island surrounded by nature and animals. Help care for dogs, cats, chickens and goats, enjoy island life and take part in gardening and practical projects.

Optional workshops are available in Italian cooking, handmade pasta, bread, cheese-making, salami-making and art (materials are paid separately).

During March and April, you can also experience cashew harvesting from my own trees.
...

This is a real home, not a resort: a chance to slow down, share everyday life and experience a side of Thailand that most tourists never see.
...
I like to treat volunteers as people sharing my home and my island, with mutual respect and personal space. I usually work alongside my volunteers, although I also appreciate people who can work independently.

When we get along well, I enjoy sharing island life with them: going out for food, taking the dogs to the beach at sunset, going to reggae concerts and beach parties, and exploring the island together.

I live upstairs and volunteers normally stay downstairs, so everyone has their own space and privacy. We can spend time together whenever we feel like it, without being constantly in each other’s way.

Every person is different and sometimes the match is perfect, sometimes it is not. I have had volunteers who became real friends, and I am still in touch with some of them even after ten years. For me, the important things are respect, good communication, independence and enjoying the experience together.

Activities & Shift

In exchange for 20 hours of help per week, we offer you accommodation surrounded by nature on a fantastic island—famous for its breathtaking beaches, surfing, enchanting sunsets, and a laid-back vibe featuring music and beach parties 🏝️

We don’t watch the clock; what matters to us is your commitment to seeing projects through to completion. You’ll have plenty of free time to enjoy the sea, explore the island, and live life at your own pace!

Rules

House Rules and Shared Living
To ensure a harmonious living environment and respect for our home, we ask all guests to observe a few fundamental rules:
- Private Property and Privacy: This is a private home. For reasons of safety, privacy, and the well-being of our animals, inviting or bringing outside guests onto the property is not permitted.
- Smoking and Substances: Smoking marijuana inside the house or on the property is prohibited. There are many venues, bars, and designated areas on the island—as well as beaches—where those who wish to smoke can do so freely.
- Respect for Local Culture: We live in a rural Thai community. We ask that you always maintain a respectful attitude toward local culture, customs, and the pace of life. In Thailand, nudity and toplessness are prohibited, as is aggressive behavior or disrespect toward the Thai people. The rule is to avoid causing trouble or getting into arguments with Thai locals or other foreigners.
