Program Details

At Casa de las Palmas we are looking for creative, proactive people who are ready to propose new ideas and contribute to our project.

During volunteering, the main responsibilities will be to support translation from Spanish to English during the Amazon Experience tours and to create content for our social media. Depending on the schedule, sometimes one activity will be more prominent than the other. When volunteers are not participating in tours, they will help create content for the hostel's social media, showcase our facilities, share guests' experiences, and promote our activities and services.

We offer tours from one to five days, with varying levels of difficulty. Some include long hikes through the jungle and nights in nature, so it's important to be willing to experience this kind of adventure. We provide the equipment and the necessary items to enter the jungle safely and enjoy an authentic experience alongside native communities and guides.

The tours are guided by a native Yagua or Ticuna guide, accompanied by a Spanish-to-English translator in groups that need it. We are looking for sociable, responsible, adventurous volunteers who are committed to good customer service, content creation, and promoting authentic experiences in the Amazon.

Activities & Shift

During volunteering, activities may vary depending on the tour schedule and hostel needs:

•Translation during tours: accompany the Amazon Experience tours and translate information from Spanish to English for guests. Tours can last from 1 to 5 days and have different levels of difficulty.
•Content creation: produce photos, videos, and material for the Amazon Experience and Casa de las Palmas social networks. When the volunteer is not participating in a tour, they will help create content for the hostel, its facilities, activities and experiences.
•Marketing and promotion: propose creative ideas, promote the tours and help showcase the authentic Amazon experience.
•Hostel support: collaborate with the team on the necessary activities and maintain a good interaction with guests.

Tasks may alternate: some days will be devoted more to tours and translation, and other days to content creation and hostel marketing.

Regular shifts are 5 hours per day, with 2 days off per week. The schedule can change when the volunteer participates in multi-day tours. On tours, all meals are included, and the hostel provides the necessary items to enter the jungle and live the experience safely and authentically.
