Welcome to our Swedish cottage! 🧺🍓🍄🌻🏡🌱🌺
The best part of staying with us is meeting new people, sharing stories, learning about different cultures and discovering the world through the people you meet. I love hearing about where people come from and teaching guests about Swedish culture. As an Australian who has been living in Sweden for many years, I understand what it feels like to be far from home and to experience a new place. I want our cottage to feel like a warm, welcoming place where you can experience Swedish life, meet other travellers, learn new things and simply enjoy the adventure. The cottage is 55 m² and we have recently started a few DIY home projects. The tasks are generally low to moderate intensity, mostly outdoors and we are collaborative about how the work is organized, always respecting time and hours . Welcome to join me in my daily life, having hot tea and a chat & going on tours. Equally, there is plenty of time to be alone. It's a great opportunity to practice english if you are learning. You will be welcomed at a café. We do pickups at Sölvesborg station near the cottage or usually Lund station and drive to the cottage. A bus runs from Sölvesborg station (nearest small town) to the cottage but we also drive our guests places they need. The cottage is 12 minutes drive to the train station. There is a modern indoor bathroom and shower, a well-equipped kitchen, a washing machine in the garage, clothes line and nice common spaces. There is privacy, freshly cooked high quality food. Talk to our previous volunteers who loved their stay. More photos of rooms, etc can be sent on request. Questions? Reach out :)

Rules
We value a clean and respectful living environment, so keeping shared spaces tidy is important to us, along with good communication. We appreciate volunteers who are proactive, considerate, and willing to be part of a positive atmosphere. In return, we offer the same.
Other rules:
-Quiet time after 10pm
-Washing up your own plates/dishes as well as help with meal clean up.
-Phone calls in your own room or outside
-Washing of your own laundry and bedding when you want it cleaned
-Tidy your room before leaving us and stripping the bedding.
-No smoking inside
The house has 3 bedrooms, some bedrooms have single beds. Other bedrooms have double beds. We like to host 2-4 volunteers at a time. We have a 1 year old dog who likes to live in the cottage and get attention from guests.
