Helping with planting and taking care of our food forest
The experience
Our food forest is a diverse garden where we grow fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, and local plants. Volunteers help with planting, watering, weeding, mulching, harvesting, and other seasonal tasks. Instead of focusing on a single crop, we grow a variety of plants together and allow nature to play its part in creating a healthy, living food system.

Program Details
Volunteers usually help around 5–6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Tasks depend on the season and what the garden needs, such as planting, weeding, mulching, watering, harvesting, preparing food, and caring for the food forest. We usually work together and I will explain each task before we start. There is also free time to rest, explore the village, or enjoy the surrounding nature. The work is simple, hands-on, and connected to daily life in the garden.
Activities & Shift
Daily activities depend on the season and the needs of the food forest. A typical day may include planting and caring for trees and vegetables, watering plants, removing weeds, adding mulch, preparing planting areas, harvesting food, collecting seeds, and helping with simple food preparation. Some days may involve heavier garden work, while others are lighter. Volunteers will learn by doing and work alongside me when needed.
Rules
We ask volunteers to respect the people, animals, plants, and nature around them. Please keep shared spaces clean, use water and other resources responsibly, and take care of things you use. We value honesty, communication, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude. This is a simple rural home and food forest, so volunteers should be comfortable with basic living conditions and hands-on outdoor work. If you have any concerns or need a break, please communicate openly.
