Program Details

We are a small guesthouse in Baisha, Lijiang, and volunteers will take part in the everyday operation and rhythm of the guesthouse.
Daily activities may include preparing and serving breakfast, welcoming arriving guests, helping carry luggage between the guesthouse and the nearby drop-off point, keeping common areas clean and organized, and helping clean and organize the kitchen after breakfast and meal preparation.
Depending on current needs and your skills, you may also help with gardening, caring for plants, small improvements around the property, photography or short video content.
We provide shared accommodation, three meals a day, laundry and Wi-Fi. This position is best suited to travelers who are comfortable with a structured work schedule and want to experience daily life in Baisha while contributing to a small guesthouse.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers contribute around 30 hours per week, usually spread across 4–5 working days, with 2–3 days off each week. A working day is generally around 6–8 hours, depending on guest arrivals, occupancy and daily needs.
A typical working day may include helping prepare breakfast in the morning, serving and clearing breakfast, washing dishes and tidying the kitchen afterwards. When guests arrive or leave, you may help welcome them and carry luggage between our guesthouse and the nearby vehicle drop-off point, as cars cannot reach our door directly.
Other activities may include keeping shared and public areas tidy, light cleaning, gardening, watering plants and assisting with occasional creative projects.
Working days are mainly dedicated to the guesthouse, so longer trips and sightseeing are best planned on your days off. We arrange the weekly schedule in advance whenever possible so you can plan accordingly.

Rules

We are a small guesthouse, so reliability and communication are very important. Please be punctual for agreed activities and let us know in advance if your plans change.
Please treat guests warmly and respectfully, keep shared spaces clean, and take care of the accommodation, kitchen and equipment. Smoking is not allowed indoors.
Some days may be busier than others, especially when several guests arrive or leave around the same time, so we appreciate flexibility and teamwork. At the same time, we will communicate responsibilities clearly and respect agreed free time and days off.
