Program Details
We are a Nature Reserve covering approximately 600 hectares of protected land, and we are located 15 minutes from the municipality of Sabana de Torres, Santander, Colombia.
We have a wildlife care center divided into two areas, one for rehabilitation and the other for refuge; in the rehabilitation area are all the animals that are in the process of recovery and rehabilitation, as they have a high likelihood of being released or reintegrated into their natural habitat, and in the refuge are the animals that, due to their dependence and imprint toward humans, do not have the possibility of surviving in the natural environment.
What we seek is to improve the quality of life of each of our species through the recovery and protection of ecosystems and environmental education.
Activities & Shift
Activities vary greatly depending on the projects being carried out; however, there are daily activities caring for wildlife such as cleaning and feeding in the nursery and neonate area, rehabilitation processes for all available species, habitat enrichment, trail cleaning, planting native trees, animal releases, (of course all supervised and approved beforehand by the on-duty professional).
The objective is always the care and conservation of wildlife.
Rules
It is prohibited to smoke and consume alcoholic beverages in wildlife management zones; loud music is not allowed as the animals' tranquility takes priority.
