Program Details

The Conscious Castle is a living retreat center and community in the making. Many different people move through the space: volunteers, retreat participants, facilitators, chefs, guests and community members.

In this role, you will lead 1 or 2 yoga classes per day and offer massages based on guest demand. Because massage demand fluctuates, your routine will be flexible: on days with fewer sessions, you may support us with a couple of hours of light housekeeping. Beyond facilitating practices, you will take care of preparing, setting up, and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere in our yoga and massage spaces. If you love holding space, sharing movement, and nurturing others through touch and care, we’d love to have you!

Outside your volunteer hours, you can rest, work remotely, explore the countryside, and take part in shared moments such as meals, conversations, movie nights, games, or sauna sessions when they naturally happen.

Activities & Shift

What You Offer:

20 hours of assistance per week (Flexible schedule around classes and massage bookings). You are responsible for tracking and logging your own hours each week.
Sports, Fitness & Holistic Therapies: Lead daily yoga sessions, offer bodywork/massages, and keep the treatment space set up and ready.

Responsibilities:

Yoga Classes: Facilitate 1 to 2 hours of yoga per day for residents, volunteers, and guests.
Massage & Bodywork: Provide individual massage/bodywork sessions (hours vary based on demand).
Space Preparation: Set up mats, massage tables, and ambient lighting, while keeping the practice and treatment rooms clean, organized, and welcoming.
Space & Community Support: When class attendance or massage demand is low, offer flexible support in general house organization, space maintenance, or community activities

Schedule & Team Rhythm:

We also hold a quick 30-minute morning meeting to stay aligned with the team and coordinate the day’s schedule (not included in the 20 hours).

You Need to Have:

- Experience teaching yoga.
- Hands-on experience offering massage therapies or bodywork.
- It is a plus: Experience with Thai Yoga Massage, Shiatsu, or Lomi Lomi.
- A warm, welcoming, and intuitive presence.

Rules

The Conscious Castle is a substance-free home (with zero tolerance, outside specific ceremonial contexts). Smoking in any form, alcohol and recreational or hard drugs are not allowed during everyday community life.

• Complete agreed responsibilities with care and reliability
• Join shared lunches and dinners when you are at home. We value these moments of connection while respecting the occasional need for rest or personal space.
• Participate in small community-care tasks
• Respect the privacy and boundaries of retreat participants
• Ask before inviting visitors or using unfamiliar equipment

Serious breaches of safety, trust or substance-related agreements may result in the stay ending early.
