Program Details

We are looking for people who want to experience, even if only for a few months, what it would be like to swap the city for the countryside. You don't need to be a farmer or know about construction; what matters is the desire to learn, just as we did ourselves.
The activities change according to the season and the needs of the farm, so you can participate in:

Soil preparation
Planting of gardens or tubers
Planting of flowers
Fertilization
Weeding
Pruning
Maintenance of crops
Coffee, banana, and citrus harvest

We also need help with our animals:

Guinea pigs
Rabbits
Chickens
Ducks

Tasks may include feeding the animals, keeping their spaces clean, and helping in their daily care.

As our project is growing little by little, there are also opportunities to learn and help in:

Construction and repair of adobe houses
Maintenance of structures
Simple repairs
Wall painting
General rural maintenance work

If you have prior experience in construction, carpentry, it will be very welcome, but it's not a priority. At the end you will receive Pocket money/Stipend at the end of the stay.

Activities & Shift

Preferably shifts should be in the morning from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. if the work is outdoors. In the case of working at home such as cooking, repairs, painting the house, you can choose your schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or in the afternoon: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In the countryside there is always something to do, so what matters are the willingness.

Rules

Punctuality at the start of tasks, a 25-hour per week support schedule.
Cleanliness and order: Each volunteer is responsible for keeping their room clean and tidy, as well as cleaning up after themselves in the kitchen and common areas after each use.

Resource use: We use water, electricity, and firewood consciously and wisely.

Respect and communication: We promote an environment of open communication, empathy, and mutual respect. We do not tolerate discriminatory attitudes of any kind.

Waste management: We separate waste (organic waste for compost, recyclables and non-recyclables). It is prohibited to leave plastics or trash on the farm or in the forest.

Substances and alcohol: Excessive alcohol consumption on the premises is not permitted, nor the use of illegal drugs on the property.

Smoking: Smoking is prohibited inside the rooms or in zones at risk of fire on the farm (forest/pastures).

External visits: It is not allowed to invite or accommodate people outside the project without prior authorization from the hosts.

Nighttime quiet: We observe rest starting at 11:00 p.m.

Transfers to the city (Chachapoyas) or tourist attractions in our mobility are coordinated in advance according to availability.
