Help me restore my family house in a greek summer village
The experience

Work involves hands-on projects like gardening, painting, DIY and small repairs, with a special gate restoration project for anyone into metalwork or welding. Program Details
This is a small, personal restoration project rather than a structured volunteer program. The house has been in my family for many years, and the idea is to slowly bring it back to life while keeping its character and reusing or repairing things whenever possible.
I’m looking for independent, hands-on people who genuinely enjoy making, fixing and improving things. Depending on your skills, we might work on gardening, painting, repairing humidity damage, general maintenance, DIY projects or restoring the old handmade entrance gate.
Before your arrival, we’ll talk about your experience and choose projects that make sense for you. If you have construction, metalwork, welding or renovation experience, even better.
In exchange, you’ll have a place to stay and plenty of time to enjoy the area and your own activities. I’ll help whenever I can, but I won’t always be at the property, so being comfortable spending time independently is important.
This is about making a real contribution while still having the freedom to enjoy a slower way of life by the sea.
Activities & Shift
Possible activities include:
• Gardening, mowing and outdoor maintenance
• Painting and preparing surfaces
• Small repairs and general maintenance
• Repairing cracks and humidity damage
• Cleaning and organizing work areas
• Metalwork/welding and restoring the entrance gate, if you have the experience
There is no strict daily shift. The exchange is project-based: we’ll agree beforehand on what you’ll help with and organize the work depending on the project, weather and your skills.
You’ll have plenty of free time to swim, explore, relax or work on your own projects.
Rules
The atmosphere is relaxed, but I ask everyone to respect a few basics:
• Please treat the house, garden, tools and belongings with care, many things here have sentimental value.
• Be honest about your skills. If you’re unsure how to do something, just ask rather than experimenting with something that could be damaged or unsafe.
• Clean and put away tools and materials after working.
• Keep shared spaces clean and leave the house as you found it.
• Food is not provided. You’ll have access to the kitchen and outdoor cooking area, but you’ll be responsible for buying and preparing your own food.
• Please respect the neighbors and keep noise reasonable, especially at night.
• Transportation is not provided, and having your own vehicle is strongly recommended.
• Good communication matters. If something isn’t working for you, I’d much rather we talk about it openly.
Most importantly, come with a collaborative attitude. This isn’t a hotel or a formal workplace, it’s a family home and a restoration project that we’ll be sharing for a little while.
