Program Details
volunteers who speak French live with Spanish adults wishing to improve mainly their oral expression in French. Throughout the stay, French is the only language used and the volunteers participate in a structured program of conversations, activities, meals and convivial moments.
Activities & Shift
The program lasts 8 days, from Friday to Friday, and requires participation for the entire stay. Each day follows an organized schedule, from breakfast to the evening social activities.
The main activity consists of individual conversations of about 50 minutes with different Spanish participants. They are complemented by debates, group activities, presentations, theatre, shared meals, convivial moments and excursions.
The goal is to allow participants to practice French for more than 14 hours per day. One or two members of the Pueblo Francés team organize the schedules, rotations and activities throughout the week.
Rules
We are looking for francophones comfortable conversing for several hours, sociable, kind, patient and fully engaged in the program.
During the experience, speaking Spanish is not allowed, even if you know the language or if a participant asks you to. It is important to actively participate in conversations, activities, meals and convivial moments, and to respect the schedule as well as the coordinators' instructions.
It is not necessary to be a French teacher: the essential is to converse naturally, encourage oral practice and contribute to a true immersion in French.
