Program Details
Our program combines wildlife research and direct protection with community-based conservation. Volunteers immerse themselves in a biodiversity-rich natural setting, actively collaborating to protect sea turtles and their coastal habitat. We seek individuals who are committed, adaptable, physically fit enough for hiking, and possess a strong sense of responsibility toward the environment and the community.
Activities & Shift
Tasks are organized into rotating shifts (day and night) based on seasonal needs:
Night patrols: Beach walks to monitor nesting activity, collect biological data, and relocate turtle nests to the hatchery.
Hatchery monitoring and care: Guard shifts to protect nests and release hatchlings.
Maintenance and general support: Beach cleaning, trail and hatchery upkeep, and assistance with the station's daily logistics.
Days off: Time for rest, enjoying the beach, and exploring the area.
Rules
Respect for wildlife: Strictly adhere to scientific and wildlife management protocols (use of red lights on the beach, silence during patrols, no flash photography).
Punctuality and commitment: Responsibly fulfill assigned shifts to avoid overburdening the rest of the team.
Coexistence and order: Keep common areas clean and tidy after use.
Care for the environment: Leaving trash on the beach or facilities is prohibited; use water and energy responsibly.
Zero tolerance: The consumption of illegal substances and any behavior that jeopardizes the safety of the team or the peace of the community is not permitted.
