Play music, help behind the bar, and promote our event nights
The experience
You're not running the bar alone, one of our staff is always on in the evening. Your part is different: be social, get a table talking, help behind the bar when it's busy, play music or DJ on the nights that suit you, and help promote what's on. Dutch winter: some nights quiet, some nights the regulars fill the place. Good English and a social streak needed. Tell us about a party you've helped with, or send us your music.

Program Details
Our bar is what makes this hostel different from a standard hostel chain: Crafty Monday, board games Wednesday, trivia Friday, a walking tour Sunday, and an open mic once a month. One of our student staff runs the evening shift, you work alongside them rather than on your own. We expect you to bring energy and get involved. In return you get a real base in a quiet Dutch city, a bar with actual regulars, and evenings that are genuinely yours to shape if you play music or want to promote something.
Activities & Shift
Evenings, alongside a staff member on shift. Help behind the bar when it gets busy, get a table talking, join or help run the open mic once a month, play music or DJ on the nights that suit you, and help promote what's on: our Meetup listings, local Facebook groups, and word of mouth in the bar itself. Some nights are quiet, some nights the regulars fill the place, either way there's something to do.
Rules
You won't take payments, run the till, or check guests in, that stays with the staff member on shift, it's a legal line rather than a trust one. Minimum stay 4 weeks. Two consecutive days off each week. Same house rules as any other resident.
