Program Details

Come to Zanzibar and turn your time into something meaningful! This project gives you the chance to connect with children, support their learning, play, creativity and personal development while experiencing the warmth of Zanzibari community life.

You can support orphanage, kindergarten and primary school activities, including English practice, educational games, storytelling, sports, arts and other fun activities. Most importantly, you will bring your time, energy, kindness and friendship to children who can benefit from positive interaction and encouragement.

You will also have the opportunity to share your culture, learn from local children and teachers, make new friendships and experience Zanzibar beyond the typical tourist experience.

When you are not volunteering, you get chance to explore the island, enjoy its beautiful beaches, discover local culture and create unforgettable memories.

Come to Zanzibar to volunteer, connect, learn, explore and leave a positive impact. 🌍❤️

Activities & Shift

Your day as a volunteer starts with breakfast at our home, giving you a chance to prepare for the day and connect with the team before heading to the school. From around 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM from Monday to Friday , you will take part in your volunteering activities at the school, supporting children through learning, English practice, games, creative activities, sports and meaningful interaction. Depending on your placement, you may also have the opportunity to spend additional time with the orphans, as they remain at the school throughout the day.

After the main volunteering hours, you can return home for lunch and enjoy some free time to relax, chill and recharge. If you prefer, you are also welcome to stay at the school and continue spending time with the children. Your afternoon is flexible, so you can explore some of Zanzibar’s amazing places, visit Stone Town, enjoy the beach, go for a swim or exercise, or simply take some peaceful time for yourself.

We respect your schedule and personal time because we want you to enjoy the full experience—not only through volunteering, but also by discovering Zanzibar, experiencing our culture and creating unforgettable memories. Our goal is to give you the perfect balance between giving back, learning, exploring, relaxing and enjoying your time with us in Zanzibar.

Rules

For everyone’s safety and comfort, we kindly ask volunteers to be back at the accommodation by around 10:00 PM, unless there is an important reason or the team has been informed in advance. This helps us ensure the safety of the volunteer and our staff while maintaining a comfortable routine at home.

Volunteers are expected to respect and maintain a clean and peaceful environment at the accommodation, including keeping their room and shared spaces tidy and taking good care of the facilities provided.

We also encourage volunteers to appreciate and be comfortable with what is provided at home. Our accommodation and meals are based on a simple local homestay experience, so we ask volunteers to respect and appreciate the available facilities, food and way of living.

Please also listen to and respect guidance from our team, especially when it comes to local culture, safety, transportation, community activities and exploring Zanzibar. Our team is always happy to share advice and help you understand the island better.

Most importantly, we expect kindness, respect, responsibility and an open mind. We want every volunteer to feel welcomed, safe and comfortable while also respecting our home, our community and the people around them.
