Program Details

We expect responsible, collaborative people who are willing to roll up their sleeves, learn, and also share their knowledge and skills. The activities will be arranged according to the needs of the site and the aptitudes of each person, and may involve organizing and decorating the lodging spaces, painting, making signs and crafts, assembling sustainable children's toys, a garden, agroforestry, and other small projects.

We value initiative, creativity, care for spaces and tools, respect for agreements and good coexistence. We do not expect you to know how to do everything: we want to build and learn together.

In return, we offer an immersion experience in the daily life of an agroecological site, in contact with the Mata Atlântica, organic production and rural life. We want to share knowledge, meals, conversations and experiences, while also respecting everyone's free time and autonomy.

Bananeiras is a living and evolving space. Therefore, we expect each person who passes through here to contribute concretely, leave a bit of their ideas and knowledge, and also take away new learnings.

Activities & Shift

The collaboration will be 4 hours per day, 4 days a week, totaling 16 hours per week and 3 days off. Activities will preferably take place in the morning, taking advantage of the cooler hours, and may be adjusted according to the climate and the site's needs.

Activities will be planned in advance, also considering each person's skills and interests. Outside collaboration hours, time is free to rest, enjoy the site, and explore the region.

Rules

We want to build a light, respectful, and collaborative living together. Therefore, we ask for commitment to the scheduled hours and activities, care for the spaces, and respect for the people who live and work on the site.

Each person is responsible for keeping the space they use organized and for helping clean the shared spaces. These everyday courtesy duties are not part of volunteering hours.

We also value conscious use of water and energy, waste separation. Before picking food, feeding animals, using tools, or performing any activity you are not familiar with, talk to us.

If something breaks, there is an accident or you have any difficulty, we prefer you tell us so we can resolve it together.

Visitors and changes to the arrangements should be discussed in advance.
