Program Details
No Canto do Quintal, we believe volunteering is an experience of exchange, community, and collaboration. For this position, we are looking for someone who is willing to take care of the space and contribute to its maintenance and transformation.
The activities may involve gardening, painting, minor repairs, organizing outdoor areas and other general space care, always according to the needs of the moment and with the volunteer's skills and interests. We do not expect you to know how to do everything: we value more the willingness to learn, care, and responsibility with the tasks undertaken.
Collaboration occurs in one of the day shifts, within a pre-arranged routine. We expect punctuality, commitment, respect for other guests and volunteers, and care for the space, materials and tools.
In return, we offer accommodation in a mixed dormitory, breakfast, and the opportunity to experience the routine of No Canto do Quintal, living with travelers from different places and participating in an environment that brings together lodging, music, art and culture.
Here, we want the volunteer to feel part of the house and also be able to propose ideas, share knowledge, and make the most of their time to get to know Tamandaré, its beaches, its culture, and the people who are part of this place.
More than a lodging-for-collaboration exchange, we aim to build an experience based on respect, transparency, trust, and exchange.
Activities & Shift
The activities may involve sanding, painting, screwing and unscrewing, pruning, raking, watering plants, washing and caring for surfaces, organizing or moving objects and making small repairs and improvements to the space.
We also value creativity and are open to suggestions of interventions or artistic occupations that could contribute to the environments of No Canto do Quintal.
Schedules and activities may vary according to the hostel's occupancy, the space's needs, the volunteer's availability, and weather conditions. The routine will be previously arranged, aiming for an organization that works well for everyone.
Rules
FUNCTIONING AND ORGANIZATION OF THE HOUSE
To maintain a climate of harmony, it is essential to have a lifestyle of respect and courtesy among volunteers, hosts, and guests.
Visits to the house (people who are not guests)
The house is only open to external visitors on event days or when the bar is open. At other times, it is reserved for guests.
Shared room
Volunteers are responsible for keeping the shared room always organized. It is important that both guests and volunteers do not occupy beds other than their own and keep belongings inside the wardrobe so items are not left around the room.
