Program Details

Scheduling will be organized according to the center's needs, but generally the support is provided from Monday to Friday for approximately 5 hours per day.

Weekends are free.

We are looking for a person who can commit to the agreed schedule and who has responsibility and punctuality, since feeding the children is an important part of the center's daily routine.

🍽️ Food
The meals prepared are mainly for the children of Educa Kids and are part of the menu established by the center.

The volunteer also receives breakfast, lunch and a snack during their shift, sharing the same menu that is offered to the children.

We do not have the possibility to prepare vegetarian, vegan, or special diets individually.

💛 Contribution to the project
To participate in our program we require a one-time fee of $25 per volunteer, which corresponds to a contribution to the project.
This contribution helps us cover needs, materials and resources used at Educa Kids.

🌱 What we look for in the person?

It is not essential that they have professional culinary training. However, it is important that:
They have experience or ease in cooking.
They are organized and responsible.
They enjoy working in an environment related to children.
They are careful with hygiene and handling of foods.
They have initiative.
They can work independently once they know our dynamics.
They are punctual and committed.
They are willing to adapt to our menu and way of working.

🌎 An exchange experience
In addition to collaborating in the kitchen, the person will have the opportunity to learn about Costa Rican culture, live in a rural environment and share with the Educa Kids team.
For us, volunteering is a cultural exchange and collaboration. The person contributes their time and their skills to the project and, in return, experiences a different life, gets to know our community and becomes part of our day to day.

We aim that whoever takes this role feels part of the team and can contribute from their knowledge and experience. 💚
