Sports Coach at a Local Primary School
The experience
Volunteers will assist the local sports coach at a primary school (children aged 7yrs - 13yrs). Kids in South Africa are crazy about sports, especially soccer/football! You will run Physical Education lessons, help prepare for track and field events, and of course assist with soccer and rugby practice and matches.
There is a lot of flexibility here and volunteers are encouraged to create fun activities for the kids.

Program Details
Volunteers are placed at a local primary school where you will focus on the sports side of things. Many of these kids live in the poorest parts of the city, so keeping them active in a positive and safe environment is vital. You will play an important role in this.
Activities & Shift
You will work at a primary school in the mornings, typically from 09:00 - 13:00, and have afternoons and 3-day weekends to relax or explore the city!
Rules
Volunteers need to be fairly fit and have a keen interest in sports, and working with children. Because of the circumstances that these children come from, a high level of patience is required.
