The experience

We’re creating a woodland trail on our off-grid regenerative farm in Gdinj, Hvar, Croatia. We welcome artists, creatives and hands-on helpers to build paths, sculptures, fairy houses, reading corners and picnic spots using natural and reclaimed materials. Help us plant Mediterranean greenery and create a place where nature, stories and imagination meet. Bring your skills, ideas and love of outdoor life!


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Program Details

Help us bring a woodland trail to life through art, gardening and practical outdoor work. Activities include preparing paths, building wooden benches and reading corners, creating sculptures and fairy houses, designing story signs and planting Mediterranean shrubs and herbs. Tasks will match your skills and abilities, with room for your own ideas. We value creativity, teamwork and care for the existing woodland.


Activities & Shift

Activities take place Monday to Friday, with Saturdays and Sundays off.

Tasks include preparing woodland paths, planting and mulching, building wooden features, creating sculptures and designing story signs. Responsibilities are agreed according to your skills, experience and interests.

Daily start and finish times are confirmed together within the agreed weekly hours. Outdoor tasks may be adjusted to weather conditions. We provide guidance on priorities, tools and materials, while welcoming your creative ideas.


Rules

* Treat hosts, fellow volunteers, guests and neighbours with courtesy and respect.
* Respect personal boundaries, privacy, different cultures and beliefs. Bullying, harassment and discrimination are not tolerated.
* Communicate concerns openly and calmly, and work together to resolve disagreements.
* Be punctual, follow the agreed schedule and let us know promptly if you are unable to participate.
* Undertake only tasks suited to your abilities. Ask for guidance whenever you are unsure.
* Follow safety instructions, use appropriate protective equipment and report hazards, injuries or damaged tools promptly.
* Return tools and materials after use, and keep work areas clean and organised.
* Share responsibility for keeping communal spaces tidy and respect quiet hours agreed with the group.
* Conserve water and electricity, and follow our waste-sorting arrangements.
* Respect trees, plants, animals and dry-stone walls. Discuss any cutting, digging or permanent changes with us first.
* Ask permission before borrowing belongings or photographing and posting images of other people.
* Open fires are prohibited. Smoking is permitted only in a designated area, with cigarette ends disposed of safely.
* Do not work or operate tools while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
