I spent two very peaceful weeks at Casa Hika with Alan, Daisy, Luna (their super cute dog), Pandi & Guiska (their cuddling cats), and eight loving chickens. The house is very welcoming and comfortable and the volunteer gets a spacious private room and own bathroom! Alan and Daisy always cook healthy and yummy food (some days a week that the volunteer's task) and are very knowledgeable human beings. With them I learnt new skills around simple DYI projects, gardening and painting. This kind of volunteer is perfect for those who love being away from the city and enjoy spending time outdoors.

The hosts trusted me and gave me a lot of autonomy in the various tasks to be carried out. Their house is warm and welcoming. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys spending time in nature!

The experience at the house was very wonderful! The place and the house are beautiful, nature invites you to connect, expand and have moments for yourself! We did a bunch of fun outings with Daisy and Alan, we visited wonderful places. The tasks are maintenance tasks, attending guests and taking care of animals. I recommend this experience 🦋🌊🤍

Daisy was extremely kind at all times, I spent a month where the experience was comforting, the connection with the animals, the vegetation, all the spaces of the farm, together with tasks that were very interesting, to create, use my hands and become proactive. The first thing: it wasn't what I expected. In addition to the tasks I would contribute as a volunteer, the host wanted me to perform domestic chores, such as washing her clothes, tidying up her room, washing her rugs, and organizing her house in detail. This was asked of me alone and not of the other volunteers. Honestly, very disappointing and it teaches me that not everyone has a collaborative and volunteering mindset. After taking care of her house in detail, we decided not to continue with the volunteer work. We had to take care of our transportation and walk. :(

Indeed, I exceptionally requested assistance with cleaning, something I explained before her arrival: normally I don't ask for it, but this week there would be no help and she would be alone for a week. When she indicated that she didn't feel comfortable cleaning the room, I told her there was no problem. I explained that she could do everything little by little. The volunteers always help keep the common areas pleasant. Finally, I tried to arrange a taxi for her so she wouldn't have to walk, but she decided to leave quickly at 7:30am.

Si quieres un lugar alejado de la ciudad, aprender cosas de campo, un lugar tranquilo ☺️ Es tu voluntariado. Disfruté mucho nuestra estancia con Deisy y Alan, son unas personas realmente especiales, amables y muy agradables, realizamos algunas actividades con la huerta, el cuidado de los animales y la creación de contenido para el proyecto del valle.
