The experience

Casa Hika @casahika is a beautiful project that can be summarized as 'Nature that cares, plants that heal, and a house that embraces', where we welcome tourists and also develop well-being workshops, special lunches, and create products with medicinal plants. For these activities we always need to perform maintenance or build infrastructure; for this we need hands that know how to use tools and have good ideas.

Program Details

Activities depend a lot on your skills, but they may include building a platform, swings, painting the glamping, digging a trench, installing water, building a temazcal, reinforcing a space with cement, cutting wood to size, etc. We have tools that allow you to work comfortably.
Additionally, the volunteer will have to cover basic house chores, such as weekly common tasks and feeding the animals (chickens, dog, cats).
It is also possible that you will have to attend to arriving tourists or help organize the glamping.

Rules

We are 15 minutes from town, between the river and the mountains, so it is a very quiet, relaxing environment where you won't find party zones and other activities nearby.
The main rule is to be autonomous, and of course to be active when there are events to cover.
Another thing is to participate in cooking lunch three times a week; we do not have a daily maid to help. There is also no cleaning lady (very occasionally), so you are required to keep your room and common areas clean. We all do the cleaning.
