This was a very special experience for me. I loved meeting the local people, learning about their culture, and spending time with the children while helping them practice English. The people in the village are very kind and welcoming. I would recommend this program, but I think it could be improved by offering a few more tasks for volunteers. It is also important to come with an open mind and be ready to experience a simple local lifestyle.

We spent one amazing week in Nam Dam village with Nam, Lien, Thang, and their family. We helped them renovate their homestay, which had been damaged by a storm just two weeks before. They made us feel like family, sharing all their meals with us, showing us around the area, and even taking us on barbecues with their friends and taking us at the night market. We truly enjoyed our the homewith them and would definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for an authentic and meaningful stay.

I had a very unique and immersive experience atthe home. I lived with one family in Tung Ba village and another in Pac Ta village. Both were very welcoming and hospitable. The work was not as structured as I was anticipating, it was very "go with the flow".
I enjoyed slowing down and living a simpler lifestyle. The scenery is stunning.
I assisted with farm tasks and house chores, taught some English, and played with kids. Some highlights were attending two weddings, visiting the Lung Cu flagpole at the "top" of Vietnam, and hiking up streams and hills to harvest crops.

Tuan was a very friendly host trying to provide us the best local experience. Unfortunately, we made a decision to leave the volunteering opportunity early as the stay was not what we were expecting. The place was very cold as it is in very early stages of being developed, similarly bathrooms were in quite a bad state with lack of privacy and comfort. Work was very dependent on your own creativity, with little to no guidance as the business is new and requires a lot of effort to build it up. Overall, definitely recommend the place for people with a lot of passion and energy!!

I had an amazing experience at the home Hostel while volunteering with Tuan, the owner. Tuan is an incredibly kind and welcoming person who made me feel like part of the family from the very beginning. The hostel has a warm and friendly atmosphere, is perfectly located amidst the stunning nature of Ha Giang. During my time there, I learned so much from Tuan and the guests who stayed at the hostel. It was a rewarding and unforgettable experience, Thank you, Tuan, for the wonderful opportunity and all the beautiful memories

My experience at Time Travel was very good, we had a great experience teaching English and helping with the construction of the homestay. (If you have construction skills or are an artist who can paint big murals, this place is a great oportunity!!) Tuan is a great person with very good intentions, the place has a lot to continue growing and improving, I hope they can achieve their goals, organize all the projects that have in mind and see the Homestay finished. I send a thank you to Cassie who always gave her best for the place and for us :)

Volunteering with Tuan at his Time Travel Company was incredible. Tuan is building an amazing hostel and tour company while running an English-speaking center for local students. My time there was filled with enriching activities, from teaching English to creating business analysis report and content creation. Each day started with traditional tea and a briefing from Cassie, a dedicated volunteer managing administrative tasks. Our days included cooking, teaching, and engaging in cultural activities like farm tours and village dinners. Thank you, Tuan and Cassie, for a memorable experience.

Tuan was a wonderful host during my time volunteering at his place. I assisted with social media, housekeeping, meal prep, and dishwashing. Spending time with his friends who visited was a lovely experience. While working on social media, I was also invited to join their English club. Although unexpected, I adapted and contributed positively. Tuan is passionate about his homestay and Ha Giang Loop tour services, and I wish him all the best in his endeavors!

It was great to meet Ty and help him with his Homestay, tours and learning English. The project is still in development and requires enthusiastic volunteers to help keep the space clean and promote the business. I felt like I got to see some really special, undiscovered parts of Ha Giang and think staying there for longer allowed me to experience the way of life in Ha Giang for locals.

Accommodations are basic but comfortable, giving you a true sense of living in the region. You'll likely stay in shared facilities, which enhances the cultural experience. It's important to note that the region can be remote and facilities may not always meet Western standards. The language barrier can also be a challenge, but the effort to communicate often leads to memorable interactions. The work is rewarding and allows you to connect with locals, learning about their customs and daily challenges.
