My experience as a volunteer at the hostel was superb. Maíra (host), Tania (manager), Ju and Lady (volunteers) were welcoming from the 1st day. It felt like home pretty fast. We used to share meals and have interesting conversation all the time. The working hours for cleaners is superb: 1h + 2h/day/6 days a week. They have all the cleaning material needed and have a good schedule organized. To go to the nearby beaches we either had to walk for some 20 minutes, or catch a ride for farther ones. In Serra Grande, the locals are very generous with hitchhikers.

My experience at the hostel was so good that I'm always back! I'm grateful to Maíra for having accepted me, the volunteers really helped me a lot, the activities were calm, the schedules were flexible, a life in a community! I love the hostel family! ❤️

O hostel foi um dos melhores voluntariados que já fiz na vida 🫶🏽 Maíra tem um coração enorme, nos acolhe e faz questão que a gente esteja bem. As pessoas que passam por lá são muito especiais também e é o tipo de lugar que você acha que vai ficar 2 semanas e fica 2 meses (ou mais hehe) Além disso voluntariado é tranquilo, os horários são conforme o combinado e também flexível. E Serra Grande é um paraíso escondido da Bahia! Agradeço a Mairão por esse tempo que passei aí e tudo o que você fez por mim. Obrigada família o hostel, espero que a gente se reencontre nesse mundão 🌎 Beijos da Amada 💖✨

The time at Guava was awesome, the hostel is incredibly beautiful and the people are very nice.
The volunteer tasks are pretty simple and well balanced across all shifts.
Maira is such a good person and it's really nice to chat with her :) in addition to the consideration she shows for each volunteer when assigning the week's shifts.
It's very easy to want to come back even before leaving, and I will surely come back to spend more time at the hostel and in Serra, which is beautiful.

I can only thank you for this incredible experience I had at the hostel; it was my first volunteering and it could not have been better; it was so beautiful to be part of this giant family; also thanks to Maira, a wonderful woman and an excellent hostess; I felt very welcomed and respected; the working hours are fair and quite flexible; I highly recommend it; everyone has to know the hostel; I will definitely come back ☺️❤️

The hostel was my first volunteering experience and I’m loving it. It has been a wonderful experience; I felt very welcomed and loved the whole time, I made wonderful friendships and memories that I will carry with me forever in my heart. I don’t feel like leaving here ever again. Maira is a great host, always with a good disposition for smooth communication, flexible, a partner who greatly enhances the well-being of all the people who live in the hostel, she has a huge heart and always made me feel at home.
