Program Details

We are looking for an experienced pizza maker who would like to spend some time with us at Viva La Pizza, a small pizzeria created by our association to give vulnerable young people an opportunity to learn, work and build a better future.

The young staff currently working at the pizzeria have already been trained by an Italian volunteer pizzaiolo. They can now make pizzas, manage the kitchen and welcome and serve customers quite independently.

They have made great progress, but they are still learning and there is plenty of room for improvement, especially when it comes to cleanliness, precision, organization and professional attitude.

This is where we hope you can help!

We are looking for someone who can work alongside them, share their experience and knowledge, and gently encourage them to improve every day. Your presence and example are probably more important than formal teaching.

You might help them with things such as:
-keeping the kitchen clean and organized;
-becoming more precise and careful in their work;
-improving their pizza-making skills;
-working more efficiently during busy services;
-developing good professional habits;
-learning how to work better as a team;
-giving them encouragement and constructive feedback.

We would love to have someone who enjoys working with young people, is patient, positive and knows how to motivate them while still maintaining good professional standards.

From time to time, we may also welcome new young people into the project: during these periods, you could help train and tutor them from the beginning, teaching them the basics of pizza making, kitchen work, hygiene and customer service.
