Help us prepare our home for renovation in beautiful West Cork!
We live in Adrigole, a small coastal village on Ireland's Beara Peninsula, surrounded by mountains and the sea.
We are about to undertake a major renovation of our old house and would welcome an extra pair of hands for a few weeks in November.
You'll be working alongside Kevin, who is helping us with the project. The initial work is mainly clearing the downstairs rooms, moving furniture into storage, dismantling unwanted fittings and getting everything ready for the main renovation.
We're a friendly household with dogs and other animals around the property. It's a wonderful area for anyone who enjoys nature, walking and rural life.
This opportunity would particularly suit someone who enjoys practical work, has plenty of energy and is happy living in a quiet countryside location.
Activities & Shift
Main activities:
- Packing and moving household contents.
- Moving furniture and appliances into storage.
- Helping dismantle old kitchen cupboards and shelving.
- Removing carpets and unwanted fittings.
- Helping Kevin organise materials and clear work areas.
- General practical assistance around the property.
Some tasks involve lifting and carrying, so a reasonable level of physical fitness is important. Previous DIY or renovation experience is an advantage but not essential.
You will work alongside Kevin, with tasks and working hours agreed in advance. Specialist plumbing, electrical and structural work will not be part of your responsibilities.
We are looking for someone available for approximately 2–3 weeks, ideally starting in early November.
