Are you experienced with horses and looking for a peaceful countryside experience in Portugal this winter?
We are looking for a reliable horse person to join us at our polo club, located approximately 30 minutes from Lisbon. During the winter months, our polo horses enjoy a well-deserved break from the playing season, but they still need plenty of daily care and attention.
20 hours of help per week
Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.
Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
2 days off per week
Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.
Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

You will work alongside our Head Groom, Alfredo, helping to look after our many polo horses and supporting the daily stable routine. In exchange for around 4 hours of help per day, 5 days a week, we provide accommodation in a private room with shared bathroom and kitchen.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being outdoors, working with animals, learning more about horse care, and experiencing life in the Portuguese countryside.
We would love to welcome someone who:
- Has previous experience working with horses and feels confident handling them
- Is reliable, responsible, and comfortable with physical outdoor work
- Enjoys spending time around animals and being in nature
- Is happy to work as part of a team and follow the guidance of our Head Groom
- Has experience driving a tractor or is confident operating one
- Speaks some Spanish, which would be a plus
Our stable team is predominantly male, and the working environment is quite hands-on and practical. Someone who feels comfortable in this kind of environment would be a particularly good fit.
Work exchange: Approximately 4 hours per day, 5 days per week
