We like to think of this space as a home, and Volunteers are a part of our household and community rhythm. We want this to be a warm, interesting and welcoming place to live and work, and that depends upon everyone treating each another, and paying guests and the property with respect.
These agreements apply to everyone who lives and works here.

Activities & Shift

Our standard volunteer agreement is:
4 hours of volunteer work per day
5 days per week
in exchange for 7 days of room and board.
This means two days each week are normally free from scheduled volunteer work.
Individual schedules may vary according to hotel operations, events, weather and the type of work being undertaken. Any significant change should be discussed rather than simply assumed.

1. Be respectful
Discrimination of any kind is not okay. You do not have to understand everyone in order to treat them with dignity. Please be conscious of each other’s boundaries and personal space.
2. Clean up after yourself
Do not create unnecessary work for somebody else. Put things back where you found them, do your dishes (not just place in sink, but see them through the process all the way back to where they were clean when you found them).
If you use a space, leave it better than you found it. This applies everywhere: bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, gardens, workspaces and common areas.
Please do not leave your belongings lying around.
3. Keep your room clean
Your room is your responsibility.
Please keep it reasonably clean and orderly throughout your stay, empty rubbish regularly and leave the room clean when you depart.
4. Do your own laundry
You are welcome to use the hotel laundry area. We do not have a laundry service.
Please use the laundry facilities considerately and do not leave washing/drying sitting in machines when other people need them.
5. Respect the kitchens and food storage
The main kitchen refrigerators and freezers are reserved for hotel and restaurant operations including providing meals to you.
Separate refrigerators and freezers
